Boyd Gaming Properties Kick Off the School Year with Donations
Ahead of the 2023-2024 school year, four of Boyd Gaming’s casino-resorts recently hosted school supply drives for local schools, as well as team members and their children. Aliante, Suncoast, Amelia Belle and Ameristar St. Charles stepped up and helped to ensure children received what they needed before their first day of class.
Aliante Casino Hotel Spa provided supplies to Ruby Duncan Elementary School for the upcoming school year. The property also hosted the school’s in-service day in one of their banquet rooms, serving lunch to teachers and staff throughout their full day of meetings.
Throughout July, Suncoast
Hotel & Casino stuffed the bus
with school supplies for new teachers at Vegas Verdes Elementary School. The
property collected an array of items to use for goodie bags including post-it
notes, multi-colored pens, highlighters, sharpies, expo markers, magnets and
“Thank You” notes. In addition, the property donated a buffet style breakfast
to welcome teachers back to the new school year.
Team members at Amelia
Belle Casino donated a 66-quart
tote full of supplies to St. Mary/Vermilion Community Action Agency Head Start
Program. Head Start is a program that promotes the school readiness of children
from birth to age five from low-income families. Some of the items donated were
paper, notebooks, pencils, hand sanitizer, ink pens, crayons, glue, folders and
more to further assist with growth.
St. Charles, team members
had the opportunity to sign up for their children to receive school supplies
based on their grade level. Team members pre-packed school supply backpacks for
more than 300 children to help alleviate some of the back-to-school stress for some
of our Boyd Gaming families.
Thank you, team members, for your support and participation! Boyd Gaming is proud to support local educators in all they do for the children in our communities, as well as give back to our team members who work hard every day.
